***NEW*** Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans Health-Care Reform Legislation and Regulation Update
May 2010 - As expected, the Administration is moving quickly on health-care reform implementation-particularly with reforms that go into effect this year, like dependent coverage, pre-existing conditions for kids, medical loss ratio requirements and the temporary high-risk pool program.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans are working closely with the BCBS Association to develop policy positions in order to shape these and other forthcoming regulations from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and other agencies. January 2010 - BCBSA Expands Blue Distinction® Program to Include Spine Surgery, Knee and Hip Replacement

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association today announced the expansion of its Blue Distinction designation program to include Blue Distinction Centers for Spine SurgerySM and Blue Distinction Centers for Knee and Hip ReplacementSM. The addition of the two new Blue Distinction designations will bring the nation’s number of Blue Distinction designations to more than 1,600.
